BTS’ V, aka Kim Taehyung, and RM, aka Kim Namjoon, are entering mandatory military service on Monday, December 11, 2023. As per the South Korean government mandate, after Jin and J-Hope’s enlistment, the remaining members of the K-pop boy group began their enlistment process in the latter half of 2023. The members will reportedly reunite as a band in 2025.
Ahead of their military enlistment, RM and V have taken to Weverse to bid farewell to their fans by sharing emotional messages. The BTS leader, known for his poetic words, beautifully expressed his love for fans, while V conveyed how much he will miss ARMYs.

On December 11, 2023, BTS member V left a heartfelt note on Weverse, expressing his gratitude to fans and promising to make more precious memories when he returns safely from the military service. He wrote, “I think I’ll miss you so much…Actually, it’s a pity that I can’t have happy memories with ARMY for a while, so besides that I’m okay, but it’s the hardest thing that I can’t see ARMY.”
He continued, “I’ll return really healthy after 18 months, so ARMY, take care of your health and look for happiness every day until I return and say, ‘I’m here!’ I also prepared a lot of things in those 18 months. Please look forward to it! Let’s make precious memories like we always did, when I return, and make them again then. I really miss you and I love you so much. So you have to wait until I return! I’ll be back soon! Bye!”
Meanwhile, BTS’ leader RM also penned down an emotional letter to fans on Weverse before his enlistment. The letter read, “The day has come I think there were a lot of things I wanted to say When I shut up, I can’t drop my mouth. I’ve been able to live BTS for the past 10 years. I was so happy. I’ve been saying it like a habit. Since the end is the beginning!”
RM further said, “I have no doubt that something else will be waiting for us afterwards…See you in the future. I love you a lot. I hope that it reaches you even a little bit.”
This is undoubtedly an emotional moment for BTS fans all around the globe. However, they also look forward to the band’s reunion in 2025.
