The San Antonio Spurs made a no-brainer decision to draft Victor Wembanyama with the number one overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Prior to being selected as the top pick in the NBA Draft, Wembanyama had already established himself as one of the best young talents in the entire world.

But many doubted whether Wembanyama had the potential to carry over his talent to the best basketball league in the world.

Well, after seeing him play for more than one-fourth of the regular season, he has proven that he is the real deal.

Speaking of which, Wembanyama currently has the most 20-point games for a rookie in the 2023-24 NBA season, as revealed via StatMuse on Twitter.

As made clear in the above tweet, Wembanyama leads the list with 11 20-point games to his name already.

On the other hand, Chet Holmgren, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Brandon Miller are tied for the second spot with four 20-point games each to their name.

Wembanyama has proven himself to be a notch above the rest of the 2023 draft class, at least in terms of scoring the basketball.

For the season, the 19-year-old is currently averaging 19.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game for the Spurs.

However, the towering power forward can certainly work on his shooting, as he is currently shooting 43.7% from the field and 27.4% from the three-point line.

Considering Wembanyama still has his entire career ahead of him, it’s possible that he will improve the shooting aspect of his game in the coming seasons.
