The San Francisco Giants are one of a few teams that has seemingly exceeded their expectations this season.

With a record of 45-36, they find themselves right in the thick of the postseason chase as we move into the month of July.

They currently hold the third Wild Card spot in the National League.

Their crop of rookies has helped them gain traction in the playoff race.

One of those rookies is catcher Patrick Bailey, who picked up a big hit on Thursday night against the Toronto Blue Jays, extending his hitting steak to 10 games.

In doing so, he became the first Giants rookie to have a hitting streak of 10 games or more since Buster Posey had two such streaks in 2010.

As we know, Posey turned out to be one of the greatest catchers in the history of baseball.

He won a Rookie of the Year Award, an MVP, and earned Comeback Player of the Year honors in 2012.

Posey also won three World Series rings with the Giants from 2010-14, earned seven All-Star nods, a Gold Glove, a batting title, and five Silver Slugger Awards.

Bailey is still early in his career, but this is some good company to be in at such a young age.

Bailey made his Major League debut in May and has since taken control of the starting catcher job with the Giants.

He’s hitting .324 with four home runs, 23 RBI, and an .891 OPS.

The North Carolina State product was a first-round draft pick in 2020.

Now, Bailey finds himself in elite company with a Giants legend.
