For years, the New York Jets have been an NFL laughingstock, but those days may be over.
They traded for future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the offseason, and they also brought in a few of his old cohorts, including wide receiver Allen Lazard and his old offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
Rodgers seems reinvigorated by his new surroundings, but Emmanuel Acho says the Jets are too confident as they progress through training camp, via “Speak” on FS1.

Acho mentioned how head coach Robert Saleh cut mandatory minicamp short because he had apparently seen enough to be convinced that his team would be outstanding.
The Jets certainly have talent on both sides of the football, including reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson and one of the league’s top defenses.
But Rodgers is 39 years of age and coming off one of the worst seasons he has ever had, and perhaps he is in decline no matter how energized he feels in New York.
In addition, the rest of the AFC is extremely competitive, and there are several other teams that have some type of shot at getting to the Super Bowl and possibly winning it.
In the AFC East alone, the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills consider themselves championship contenders, while the New England Patriots are hopeful they will make the playoffs.
With all the talent throughout the conference, anything from winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy to even missing the playoffs seems to be possible for Rodgers and the new-look Jets this season.
