Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens is the $260 million man now, as that is how much the new contract the team recently gave him is worth.

It has led to speculation that he now has too much entrée within the organization and that so much power will be bad for him and everyone around him.

But former player LeSean McCoy doesn’t see giving Jackson plenty of pull as a bad thing.

In fact, McCoy relayed stories about Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady being allowed to bring their own wrinkles to their respective offenses as an example of how giving Jackson some power will be a good thing.

Jackson may not be one of the NFL’s most prolific passers, like Mahomes, but he is a strong dual-threat QB who can do damage both in the air and on the ground.

Last season, he threw for 2,242 yards and 17 touchdowns while running for 764 yards and three touchdowns.

Critics of Jackson say that his new contract is risky because he has had some trouble staying healthy — he missed the last five games of the 2022 regular season and Baltimore’s wild-card playoff game because of a sprained PCL.

The season prior, he missed some games on the schedule with an ankle injury.

Jackson’s style of play is high-risk, and many feel that dual-threat signal-callers are a major injury waiting to happen.

But Baltimore has more offensive weapons this year, and if he manages to stay healthy and play well, they could end up making some noise in the playoffs.
