Every year, there seems to be some drama surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders and this time it happened right before the start of the 2023 NFL season.

As the Raiders were preparing to play the Denver Broncos in Week 1, the team was blindsided by a social media outburst from Chandler Jones.

Jones said he didn’t want to play for Las Vegas anymore after he alleged that he wasn’t allowed to train at the team’s practice facility and instead had to use a local gym.

He also added that the team was in contact with his child’s mother and that they sent a crisis team to his house.

Since then, Jones has deleted the social media posts though he remains away from the team due to personal reasons.

The day before the Raiders are set to take on the Broncos, Jones said he would miss playing with his teammates via his Twitter account.

“Gunna miss playing with my warriors tomorrow! Y’all boys hold it down!” Jones tweeted.

Without Jones available, Josh McDaniels figures to have Malcolm Koonce and Tyree Wilson play opposite of Maxx Crosby.

Jones came into training camp feeling healthier and faster, positive signs that he could rebound from his disappointing 2022 season.

However, it feels like Jones could miss more than just the game against Denver as the organization continues to look into the matter.

It’s an obvious blow to a defense that could use more playmakers on it, but right now the silver and black faithful will just have to see how the situation plays out.
