American NBA players are not happy after what went down with Team USA.
The rest of the world won’t simply bow down and let them run them over, and it’s getting more difficult to dominate on the international scene.
With that in mind, USA Basketball is leaving no stone unturned in an attempt to get back on top of the world.
That’s why Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo is reportedly a strong candidate for being Team USA’s starting big man in the upcoming Olympics, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic (via NBA Central).

Adebayo’s game is tailor-made for FIBA Basketball.
Despite being slightly undersized, he’s physical enough to withstand the burden of international hoops.
He’s a defensive-minded big man who will alter shots in the restricted area, get some blocks, hold his own on the defensive end of the floor, and then finish on the other end.
Jaren Jackson Jr. was exposed throughout the course of the entire tournament, struggling to gain and maintain position for offensive and defensive rebounds, getting into foul trouble, and barely making an impact on the offensive end of the floor.
The lack of a traditional big man backfired tremendously for Team USA, and coach Kerr refused to give Walker Kessler a longer leash.
With Bam on the team, that shouldn’t be an issue going forward.
