Bengals QB Joe Burrow considered day-to-day with calf injury

Cincinnati Bengals star pivot Joe Burrow is considered day-to-day with his lingering calf injury and won’t be a full participant in practice on Thursday, head coach Zac Taylor told reporters.

“Giving him time is best,” Taylor said.

Burrow was pulled early from the Bengals’ Week 2 loss to the Baltimore Ravens after he re-aggravated the calf injury he has been dealing with since the start of training camp.

The 26-year-old quarterback, who recently became the highest-paid player in league history, has started both games for the Bengals. He has thrown for 304 yards and two touchdowns through the first two games, both losses.

Cinncinati has started 0-2 for the second straight season, and with Burrow’s status up in the air for Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, the Bengals are in real danger of starting 0-3, a tough hole to dig out of in the ultra-competitive AFC.

Burrow injured his calf while scrambling out of the pocket during training camp on July 27. He missed more than a month during the pre-season, before returning to practice earlier this month.
