The Golden State Warriors will be looking to climb back up the championship mountain when the 2023-24 NBA season tips off in a little less than a month.

The Warriors suffered a tough second-round loss to the Los Angeles Lakers this past postseason, but the team seems highly motivated to prove that they still belong in the championship conversation.

With the core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green back, no one can count out Golden State and they’ve brought back the bulk of last year’s roster to help carry the load.

The first game of the season is going to be a highly-televised affair as the Warriors are set to take on the Phoenix Suns.

Phoenix is the latest superteam to hit the league and they’re headlined by Kevin Durant who is chasing after his third ring.

With Durant coming back to the Bay Area, Kerr believes that the fans will give him a warm welcome, via NBC Sports.

“I think fans will give Kevin the reception he deserves,” Kerr said.

Kerr notes that Durant has been unable to play in front of the home crowd and that’s been due to the superstar being hurt.

However, by all accounts, he will be good to go and the Warriors fans in attendance should be cheering for him as he helped deliver two championships to the franchise.

Some still harbor hard feelings about Durant’s departure to the Brooklyn Nets, but with how much time has passed it’s about time he gets the ovation he deserves.

While Phoenix is the enemy, the Golden State faithful shouldn’t forget what Durant did for the organization.
