REDWOOD CITY — After about three months of unsuccessful attempts to locate the suspect involved in a June road-rage incident, a Redwood City police officer recognized and arrested a man on Wednesday in connection to the altercation, according to authorities.
Police said the initial incident occurred in June, when the 68-year-old suspect cut off another driver on the road and began cursing from the vehicle. They both exited their vehicles and the suspect charged at the victim with a large kitchen knife.
Police did not specify how the June incident ended or whether anyone was injured.
After being alerted to the incident, police used the man’s license plate registration information to locate him and connect him to his home in East Palo Alto. Several attempts to locate him were unsuccessful, police said.
The man was located on Wednesday when he was contacted during an unrelated call for service, according to authorities. The responding officer recognized him from the June incident and arrested him on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon.
