Historically speaking, Team USA is undoubtedly the most dominant team in international basketball events.
The true reign of terror began in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics when NBA players such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird were allowed to play for the national team.
But over the years, Team USA’s dominance has slowly but surely decreased.
Following a medal-less finish in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, many big-name NBA stars are expected to play for Team USA.
Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan is among the players who are interested to play for Team USA at the 2024 Olympics, as per Mark Medina, via Legion Hoops on Twitter.

DeRozan has established himself as one of the best mid-range scorers in the NBA.
Sure, he hit a rough patch after being traded to the San Antonio Spurs by the Toronto Raptors, but he regained his talent after playing for the Bulls.
To put things into perspective, he has made back-to-back NBA All-Star appearances while playing for the Bulls.
On the other hand, DeRozan failed to receive the honor for three straight seasons when being a member of the Spurs during his career.
As for his career, DeRozan averaged 24.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game for the Bulls in the 2022-23 season.
Keeping his numbers in mind, DeRozan has the potential to become a vital part of Team USA in the 2024 Olympics.
But with the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant competing for both forward positions, DeRozan’s resume falls a little short.
