SEC represented on MLB Wild Card Series rosters

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Oct. 3, 2023)—– A total of 18 former SEC baseball players were named to active rosters for the American League and National League Wild Card Series.

LSU has four former players on 26-man rosters, while South Carolina has three, and Auburn, Florida and Mississippi State each have two. Ten SEC schools are represented on Wild Card Series rosters.

The Texas Rangers have five former SEC players on their postseason roster, followed by the Minnesota Twins and Miami Marlins with three. All eight MLB teams in the Wild Card Series have at least one former SEC player on their active roster.

The Major League Baseball Playoffs begin with the Wild Card series Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The Division Series will begin Oct. 7. Rosters for the Braves, Dodgers, Orioles and Astros will be announced next week.
