Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves was proud to represent the Dominican Republic in this summer’s FIBA World Cup.

During the tournament, Towns produced 24.4 points and 8 rebounds a game and helped DR make it to the second round.

Towns took a walk down memory lane, posting a video on Twitter that showcased some of his biggest moments from the World Cup.

He added the caption “Recuerdos que duran para siempre,” which translates to: “Memories that last forever.”

Even though the Dominican Republic wasn’t able to win a medal in the games, these definitely are memories that will last forever for Towns.

Towns has stated that he was playing on behalf of his late mother, Jacqueline, who passed away in 2020.

“It meant everything being able to represent my mother. Her country, our country. I made a promise to her that I will always go back to play with Dominican Republic,” Towns recently told ESPN.

The World Cup was a chance for Towns to show his skills as well as some of his leadership abilities.

Those will both come in handy in 2023-24.

Last season, Towns averaged 20.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists.

Injuries kept him sidelined for much of the year and the Timberwolves ultimately didn’t have the season they hoped for.

Can they find a better rhythm now that Towns will be back for the full year?

The team has a strong big three consisting of Towns, Rudy Gobert, and Anthony Edwards.

All of those men participated in the World Cup over the summer but they’re now all ready to return to their team and strive for greatness.
