The New York Yankees finally put an end to their nine-game losing streak Wednesday night as they faced off against the surging Washington Nationals in the second game of a three-game series.

Leading the way for New York was the reigning American League MVP himself, Aaron Judge.

Judge crushed three home runs against the Nats in the second game of the three-game set.

In fact, it was the first time that Judge had ever hit three home runs in a single game.

On Twitter, the Yankees fan page “Talkin’ Yanks” took note of this momentous occasion and posted a video of Judge’s third blast.

New York had been on a slide of epic proportions.

It was the first time since 1982 that they had lost nine games in a row.

The team was at risk of losing 10 in a row for the first time since 1913.

Fortunately, the Yankees avoided that fate with Wednesday night’s 9-1 blowout win over the Nationals at Yankee Stadium.

With his three-homer performance, Judge bumped his total on the year up to 27.

Last season, Judge hit 62 homers and broke the single-season record in the American League.

Injuries prevented him from being able to do that again this year, but he is back and healthy now and hitting home runs again.

His three homers ultimately buried the Nationals and set up a rubber game for Thursday afternoon, with the Yankees coming into that game with a record of 61-65.

Judge has been the star of the Yankees over the past two seasons, and he came through in the clutch yet again.
