Fans will have their last chance to catch all these movies and TV shows leaving Hulu this month. Hulu offers a large selection of TV shows and movies, and every month some of that content ends up leaving the streaming service. Launched in 2007, Hulu is one of the original major streaming services and one of the few to include un-skippable ads during TV shows and movies at lower subscription tiers.
Hulu offers plenty of original movies and programming alongside its large library of network and Hollywood titles, yet it is always changing meaning that not every piece of content will be there forever. December 2023 will see a number of notable titles leaving the streaming platform, some to find new homes elsewhere and others to perhaps disappear from the streaming world for now. With only a finite number of days left to enjoy them, subscribers will want to keep an eye on everything leaving Hulu in December 2023.
December 7
Last Chance To See A Hidden Sci-Fi Gem
The first title being removed from Hulu in December is the little-known sci-fi movie Proximity. The movie tells the story of a NASA worker who is abducted by aliens before being returned to Earth. When no one believes his story, he sets out on a mission to find evidence of what happened. There are plenty of hidden gems floating around on Hulu waiting to be discovered and Proximity might be a worthwhile find before it leaves on December 7.
December 14
A Forgotten Bradley Cooper/Jennifer Lawrence Film
- In the Fade (2017)
- Serena (2014)
Sometimes big-name stars can collaborate on a project only for it to completely fall through the cracks and miss the mainstream audience. This seems to have been the case with Serena which sees Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper collaborating once again on a period piece. Set during the Great Depression, Cooper stars as a man building a timber empire only for it to be threatened by his marriage to a new woman (Lawrence).
Also departing Hulu on December 14 is In the Fade, a German movie starring Diane Kruger as a woman on a mission for revenge following the death of her husband and son in a bombing. The movie won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film while Kruger won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress.
December 27
Two Very Different Action Movies
- Guns Akimbo (2020)
- The Accountant (2016)
Some high-octane action movies will be leaving Hulu on December 27. The Accountant stars Ben Affleck as a math savant who works cooking the books for corporations. However, after discovering information he was not meant to see, he becomes the target of some dangerous people all while the authorities close in on him. Affleck is excellent in the lead role and is backed by a terrific supporting cast that includes Anna Kendrick, Jon Bernthal, and JK Simmons. Guns Akimbo is a wild action movie starring Daniel Radcliffe as a man who wakes up with guns glued to his hands and in the middle of a modern gladiator game.

The last day of the month always sees the largest number of titles leaving Hulu. When it comes to the last day of 2023, there is an exceptionally large number of departures with over 100 titles being removed from the service. Within this varied collection of movies are titles that appeal to audiences of all kinds that Hulu users may want to check out while they still can. This includes a couple of franchises, including The Matrix movies, the original Men in Black trilogy, and three of the Jason Bourne movies. Subscribers looking to watch these movies on Hulu will have to be quick as they will only be added to the platform at the beginning of the month.
December 31 will also see a number of Best Picture nominees being taken off. This includes the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody which won Rami Malek his Oscar, the true sports underdog movie Ford v Ferarri starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale, and the crime thriller Hell or High Water, written by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. There are also some great comedies leaving, including Tropic Thunder, Talladega Nights, and Billy Madison.
Of course, with the holidays being over by the end of December, Hulu is wasting no time in dropping some of its Christmas content as users will have their last chance to watch the likes of Muppets Christmas Carol, Polar Express, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
