The Cincinnati Bengals may have lost more than just a game on Thursday night.

With Joe Burrow leaving the game in the first half with a wrist injury and not being able to come back, all they worked for to get to this point could go down the drain in the blink of an eye.

At least, that’s how former NFL star Ryan Clark tends to think.

Talking about Burrow’s injury on ESPN’s “Get Up,” Clark predicted that the Bengals’ playoff hopes are all but gone if Burrow has to miss time.

The Bengals have yet to reveal a timetable for Burrow’s return.

He’s going to have a long week to restore and recover in time for another divisional clash, this time with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Bengals are 5-5 right now, so they could still make the playoffs, record-wise, even if the division seems out of reach.

Then again, that would require going almost perfect for the remainder of the season, and they have one of the toughest schedules ahead of them.

On top of that, this team has already shown that they cannot win football games without Burrow at full strength.

They got off to a slow start to the season because of his calf injury, and they looked like a Super Bowl contender again when he was healthy.

If he’s going to miss time, perhaps it’ll be better for Zac Taylor and company to start thinking about the NFL Draft and planning ahead for the upcoming NFL season.
