Located in the heart of the capital city of Saint Paul, Minnesota, Saint Paul College is a regionally-accredited community &

Saint Paul College is a comprehensive two-year institution and awards Associate of Arts, Associate of Science and
Associate of Applied Science degrees, as well as, diplomas and certificate programs in liberal arts, fine arts, health sciences, business,
engineering, and career & technical education programs. The College has 54 associate degree programs, including the Associates of Arts
degree, and 74 career certificate and diploma programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Associate Vice President of
Human Resources and Workforce Equity provides strategic leadership and guidance to all human resource activities of the college including
workforce planning, talent acquisition and onboarding, employee and labor relations, employee engagement and retention, training and
leadership development. This position reports to the President, with a dotted line to the Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
and serves as a member of the College Cabinet.

This position has overall responsibility for planning, organizing and staffing the
areas of HR operations and employee/labor relations functions for approximately 400 classified and unclassified employees to ensure the
organization can execute its organizational strategies equitably and in compliance with all collective bargaining agreements or plans, laws
and regulations. This position serves as the Senior Human Resources Officer and the Affirmative Action/ADA Officer for the college.
Principles of diversity, affirmative action, and equal opportunity will be applied to all college human resources practices. This position
involves significant discretion and substantial involvement in the development, interpretation and implementation of college policy.

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for

The successful candidate should have an appropriate
combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, psychology, or
    related field;
  • Five (5) years of successful professional experience in human resource management;
  • Demonstrated advanced
    skills in leadership, management, and supervision;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of equity and inclusion principles and
    standards;
  • Ability to identify and address problems with confidentiality, diplomacy, and integrity;
  • Demonstrated
    competence in interpreting and complying with federal and state law and organizational policies;
  • Excellent written and verbal
    communication skills;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information systems used to support Human Resource functions and willingness to
    learn new systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree;
  • Professional HR
    certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, PHR);
  • Leadership experience in higher education, non-profit, or government;
  • Experience with collective bargaining and contract administration;
  • Experience in strategic planning, project management, and
    change management initiatives;
  • High degree of computer literacy and ability to use technology to develop business process
    efficiencies.

Salary

The hiring range for this position is $85,000 – $136,000/annually with excellent
benefits. Placement within the salary range for this position is determined on the basis of relevant experience and education and in
accordance with the current Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Personnel Plan for Administrators.
