Biniyam is a 33-year-old man from Ethiopia who fans met on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2. Biniyam got engaged to baby mama Ariela on the show as they built a life together in Addis Ababa. Biniyam had a tragic backstory where Biniyam’s first American ex-wife Bria had left him and taken their child back to the U.S. Somehow, Biniyam’s next wife was also American and returned to her country while accusing Biniyam of cheating.

Biniyam and Ariela got married on 90 Day Fiancé season 9. Biniyam was shown as being suspicious of Ariela because of her close friendship with her ex-boyfriend Leandro Fosque. However, it may have been a farce, since Biniyam knew that Ariela would never cheat on him because she loved him so dearly. Biniyam and Ariela sparked split rumors several times in recent years due to cryptic Instagram updates. It appears Ariela and Biniyam’s co-star Angela Deem has now confirmed that the couple is not together as of 26 February 2024.

Ariela’s mother Janice had accompanied Ariela to Ethiopia in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2. Janice wanted to know what her daughter’s new life in a new country was going to look like. Janice wasn’t impressed by the state of Biniyam’s house and the apartments that he suggested renting were not ideal for the two women. Janice got to know Biniyam better by visiting the club where he was working as a dancer. They watched Biniyam perform with his ex-girlfriend Tsion Getaneh. Biniyam worked at the club every night where he had to dance with his ex.

Biniyam’s dance was entertaining at first but slowly got provocative. Janice was in for a shock when Ariela told her that the woman was Biniyam’s former girlfriend. Ariela wasn’t sure of how long they dated, but she didn’t seem to be bothered by Tsion’s presence.

Ariela then told the cameras that Biniyam had rekindled his friendship with Tsion when Ariela was “in the U.S. and far away” as Biniyam was shown playing butt bongos on Tsion’s body.

In season 3, Ariela went back to America to get her son Aviel operated on his hernia. Meanwhile, Biniyam played in Ethiopia while Ariela was away. Biniyam used to invite his unruly friends home, drink with them, and get these people to stay over at his and Ariela’s Addis Ababa place that her parents were paying for. Biniyam’s friends were sleeping on Ariela’s bed. A lot of local women were also visitors to Biniyam’s party house. After Biniyam came to the U.S., Ariela exploded on Biniyam after watching him train with a female wrestler for his MMA practice.

Biniyam Has Major Commitment Issues

Biniyam was doing dancing, singing, teaching personal training, martial arts, gymnastics, etc. when he was introduced to 90Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Biniyam tried to do a lot of things in life and becoming a reality TV star opened up many career opportunities for Biniyam. He is an influencer doing brand collaborations and has also tried singing in his own music video. Biniyam wanted to be an MMA champion after coming to America. He even made Ariela move to Las Vegas for his career. It doesn’t look like Biniyam has participated in any new championships recently. Biniyam isn’t able to stick to one particular job.

Biniyam could also find it difficult to be in a long-term relationship. Biniyam may have chosen to be together with Ariela just because she became pregnant with his baby. Biniyam wasn’t faithful to his first wife. Bria had decided to part ways with Biniyam because she had caught him talking to another woman. Biniyam insisted the woman was just a friend. Biniyam tried telling Bria that he had done nothing wrong. However, Bria blocked him and chose to live as a single mom in the U.S. When Ariela went away for Aviel’s surgery, she suspected Biniyam of cheating on her. Biniyam gaslighted her by saying she was “imagining” that he was cheating because she was in America, and he was in Ethiopia.

At the time, Ariela was accused of sabotaging her relationship with Biniyam. They thought Ariela just wanted out of the relationship and hence was accusing Biniyam of cheating. Ariela was slammed for overreacting. However, Biniyam continued to behave in the same way with Ariela. A similar situation arose when Ariela and Biniyam made their 90 Day Fiancé comeback via 90 Day Diaries in January 2024. Ariela said life with Biniyam was difficult in their Las Vegas home. Biniyam was hardly present in the house, and she was seeing less and less of him.

Ariela had suggested she and Biniyam could spend some time apart. Biniyam didn’t agree. Ariela also thought that it was a good idea for Biniyam to find someone who made him happy. In February 2024, a video showing Binyam getting cozy with a mystery woman went viral. Fans noticed that the woman wasn’t his wife, but Biniyam and the brunette had recorded themselves speaking to the camera before kissing each other on the lips. Screenshots of the video were reposted by 90dayfianceupdate on Instagram. Since Biniyam hasn’t been faithful to women in the past, his alleged new romance is also likely to fail.

It is not yet clear if Biniyam’s video with the curly-haired brunette was filmed when he was still together with Ariela, or after they had broken up. The video is supposed to have shown Biniyam walking arm-in-arm down a street at night as if they were on a date and madly in love with each other. Ariela could be contractually bound to not reveal whether she is still together with Biniyam or not. After all, 90 Day Diaries showed Ariela moving back into the apartment after she and Biniyam had separated.

Biniyam claimed he was trying to fix the situation, but his romantic video hints at the opposite. Biniyam had accused Ariela of being controlling. Biniyam is trying hard to make Ariela look like the villain when he’s been manipulating her into trusting him all along. Ariela had been unhappy in the 90 Day Fiancé relationship but may have chosen to make it work for the sake of their child. Now with Biniyam presumably out of the picture, it will be interesting to see if Ariela confirms the status of their marriage on social media or in a new spin-off.
