Hours before the Columbus Blue Jackets are set to take on the Anaheim Ducks as part of a 16-game NHL slate, the team’s arena is dealing with a power outage, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
Nationwide Arena was without power as of 2:40 p.m. ET, according to electricity supplier AEP Ohio. If outage is not fixed and the game is not played, it would jeopardize the NHL’s plan to have all 32 teams in action for only the second time in league history.

“Crews are investigating the cause of the ongoing outage. An estimated restoration time is not yet available,” the company tweeted at 1:33 p.m. ET.
The Blue Jackets-Ducks game is set for 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT, the second of 16 games to be played on Tuesday night.
The game, if it goes ahead, can be seen on Sportsnet+.
