Salary:  $32,755 – $41,252

Basic Function:

Provides customer service and administrative support to create a positive experience for all guests and visiting artists of the Performing Arts Center. Coordinates daily business functions and assists with special projects. Reports to designated supervisor.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Provide customer service to guest patrons face-to-face at the Box Office; serve as the primary contact with internal and external guest patrons; independently respond to inquiries and resolve problems.

Coordinate hospitality and lodging for all visiting artists:

  • Serve as liaison with University Culinary Services (UCS).
  • Identify needs not met by UCS and fulfill them locally.
  • Communicate arrival and departure times with local hotel.
  • Arrange local ground transportation.

Coordinate visiting artist payments with the Business Office and track contract workflow. Maintain financial records and associated accounting processes. Balance daily ticket sales, process bank deposits, and be responsible for all daily reconciliation using CASHnet.

Represent department during on-site events including on evenings and weekends.

Train and supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of support staff or other employees.

Represent department on various campus committees.

As needed, act as the box office manager during regular business hours and at events.

Assist with special projects.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or one year of experience may be substituted for each year of the education requirement; three months relevant experience.

License/Certification:

Knowledge Of:

Basic accounting procedures and principles *

Skill In:

Interpersonal communication to effectively interact with the general public in person and over the telephone *
Providing exemplary customer service
Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook)

Ability To:

Oversee a staff of temporary/student employees
Work evening and weekend hours *
Find a solution which meets both the customer needs while not compromising office policy
Maintain a pleasant and helpful manner under stressful conditions *
Resolve problems independently and make decisions
Define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
Apply policies and procedures
Manage time effectively and set priorities
Carry out or assist in implementing changes
Maintain accurate records
Learn and utilize specific software applications

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:
Experience with computerized ticketing software applications

Assessments:

Working Schedule:

 Generally, Monday through Friday, during business hours; however, non-traditional hours are expected to support the event schedule.
