Joint practices have become a yearly staple of the NFL offseason.
This offers two teams an opportunity to practice with another roster, getting reps in against their competitors.
While these practices have proven to be beneficial, they have also created tension.
There have already been two fights in these practices, the latest between the Los Angeles Rams and Los Vegas Raiders.
This particular scuffle was between Maxx Crosby and Cam Akers.
Shortly after the fight, Crosby was quoted by Bleacher Report, saying, “I was just doing what I do,” adding “He got what I got.”
Akers was quick to respond on Twitter, asking, “Somebody ask him what it was I got?”
Somebody ask him what it was I got?Anybody with eyes saw what happened 💀😂 https://t.co/jOqmTZ1uyC

Details of this fight are still being revealed, and the backlash hasn’t been fully determined.
Akers was reportedly thrown out of practice.
Akers got kicked out of practice, assumedly since he bumped Crosby first after he tried to knock the ball loose. Crosby is still on the sideline but was held out of the rest of the drill. https://t.co/SZlcKiw9oP

The two teams are scheduled for another joint practice on August 17th, and it’s unclear if this will be cancelled.
If Akers and Crosby are both on the field for day two, it could be another messy experience.
Either way, both teams are currently preparing for their preseason matchup, slated to take place on August 19th.
Training camp is a time for teams to get back in sync with each other, along with giving fringe players a chance to make the team.
Distractions such as fighting take valuable time away from teammates, who are likely to be unhappy with Akers and Crosby.
Will any additional repercussions come from this, either from their respective teams or the NFL itself?
