Canada’s Denis Shapovalov and Bianca Andreescu are moving on at Wimbledon.
The 26th-seeded Shapovalov beat Gregoire Barrere of France 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7) in men’s second-round action on Thursday.
Andreescu topped Anna Bondar of Hungary 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 in first-round women’s action as the Grand Slam tournament tried to motor through its schedule following three days of rain.
Earlier, Vancouver’s Rebecca Marino lost 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 to No. 29 seed Irina-Camelia Begu of Romania in first-round play.
Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont. and Leylah Fernandez of Laval, Que., are scheduled to play second-round matches later Thursday.
