After an offseason of wondering what the 2023 New England Patriots would look like, fans finally saw their team perform against the Philadelphia Eagles.
While the Patriots ended up losing this game, they performed better than many pundits predicted.
Mac Jones’ performance was lauded by many, including Dan Orlovsky, who broke down his tape.
Orlovsky pointed to several positive points of Jones’ game, including his performance in the “bunch” package that Bill O’Brien put together.
It’s nice to see Mac Jones back and looking like Mac Jones for @Patriots

Jones finished the game with 316 passing yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
This was an unexpected result from Jones, especially given the dominance of the Eagles’ defense.
If he can keep this up throughout the year, he’ll not only silence his doubters but also hopefully help lead the Patriots to a better record.
The past few years for the Patriots haven’t yielded the level of success the organization was used to during the Tom Brady era.
Jones was brought in to try and be Brady’s replacement.
If his Week 1 performance is a result of his offseason growth, the Patriots could be in for a real treat.
They are up against a tough division this year, with all four teams expected to compete for the top spot.
The Patriots are staying home for their Week 2 game against the Miami Dolphins, hoping to record a tally in the win column.
After the Dolphins’ shootout victory over the Los Angeles Chargers last week, the Patriots certainly have their work cut out for them.
All eyes will be on Jones this week who will try to replicate last week’s performance.
