The Family Chantel season 5 has caught up with Pedro Jimeno and Chantel Everett, two 90 Day Fiancé exes who have many details to spill about their messy divorce. After seven seemingly happy years of marriage, Pedro filed for divorce from Chantel during the shocking fourth season of The Family Chantel. Now, Chantel is sharing how she is moving on from Pedro and whether she legally changed her name back after he left the popular reality TV star.
The Family Chantel season 5 is taking place nine months after Pedro shocked Chantel by filing for divorce. Chantel, 32, moved back in with her parents, Thomas and Karen Everett, alongside her younger sister and roommate Winter Everett. Meanwhile, Pedro has been living on his own since he surprised Chantel by moving out when he blindsided her with the divorce. Fortunately, a wounded Chantel is now taking steps to move on after the sad split.
Chantel Changes Her Name After Pedro Split
Chantel revealed on the latest episode of The Family Chantel season 5 that she wanted to separate herself from her villainous ex, Pedro, in a more extreme way. The Atlanta nurse gathered everything necessary to legally change her name from Chantel Jimeno back to Chantel Everett. While mother Karen maintained that Pedro was a user who never deserved her daughter, Chantel said she deeply loved her ex-husband and was eager to embrace him fully. Therefore, she didn’t seem to regret having taken his name even though she was keen to have it switched back post-split.
Chantel Severs All Ties With Pedro
Although Chantel was clearly reluctant to let Pedro go during The Family Chantel season 4, the TLC personality is now embracing the divorce despite lingering sadness over the lost marriage. Chantel revealed that her last tie to Pedro is their shared house. That is why she decided to move out of the home and sell it. Chantel refused to allow Pedro’s real estate company to list the property and profit from the sale. She instead hired an independent and neutral party to arrange the selling. Although she displayed some sadness, Chantel also seemed eager to let Pedro go and remove him from her life.
Despite Chantel letting Pedro go, The Family Chantel season 5 is gearing up for some conflict between exes Chantel and Pedro. For one, Chantel’s family cannot stand her ex-husband and maintain that Pedro used Chantel from the start for a green card and new opportunities in the United States. On the other hand, Pedro’s family loathes Chantel. Meanwhile, The Family Chantel villain Pedro has plenty of open animosity and hostility on display for his ex-wife. So far, there are no signs of reconciliation for Chantel and Pedro.
