The Miami Dolphins have the best offense in the National Football League.

And while most people thought they needed to give their running back room a significant boost, their running game has actually been a key factor to their success.

Of course, everybody raves about Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle, and rightfully so.

Then again, veteran RB Raheem Mostert also deserves his flowers — perhaps even more.

As pointed out by NFL on CBS on Twitter, the former San Francisco 49ers back currently leads the league in rushing touchdowns (13).

However, what’s remarkable is the fact that he’s 31 years old, which makes him a bit of a dinosaur by today’s standards.

As a matter of fact, he’s the same age as Le’Veon Bell, a year older than Melvin Gordon, two years older than Todd Gurley, three years older than Ezekiel Elliot, and four years older than Joe Mixon.

Elliott’s best years are far behind him, and the same goes for Gordon.

Bell and Gurley aren’t even in the league, and he has more touchdowns than Mixon, who’s supposed to be one of the best young backs in the league.

Mostert has never been a star, but he’s proving that aging running backs aren’t as washed as front offices and analysts believe they are.

The market for veteran running backs has been brutal over the past couple of years, and that’s not likely to change soon, but they could at least try and make an example out of Mostert when asking for a new deal.
