Police are looking for the hit-and-run driver who killed a 72-year-old woman in Brooklyn Thursday evening, officials said.
A call reporting a pedestrian hit by a car at Marine Avenue and 97th Street in Bay Ridge came in at around 6:40 p.m., police said. There, officers found the unresponsive 72-year-old woman lying underneath a parked car.
A preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle had hit her, causing the woman to fall under the parked car, police said. The vehicle then fled the scene, the NYPD said.
Police said the woman suffered trauma to her head and body, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests have been made, and the NYPD’s Collisions Investigation Squad is investigating the incident.
