Job Summary:

Under the general
supervision of the AVP, Human Resources, this position requires a high level of expertise in Workday HCM, Reporting and Security and serves
in a consulting and advisory capacity to the university community. The incumbent is responsible for leveraging our HRIS Systems and
streamline related processes to the fullest extent possible, providing the best possible HR support and resources throughout the
university.

The senior level HR Lead position will serve as key member of the HR Team working closely with HR stakeholders and cross
functional teams to automate HR processes with high quality solutions. Successful execution of this role will drive the transformation and
innovation of the HR department designed to support NEIU’s workforce infrastructure needs.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Has the overall responsibility for access rights assignment and security configuration for the
    Workday application. Maintain and update the security program to include role assignments, security group access changes, and
    troubleshooting security questions and issues.

  • Participate in the website content and internal communications for HR
    including all training materials for Workday and HR processes.

  • Troubleshoot helpdesk tickets and work to define and deliver
    technical and functional solutions.

  • Responsible for driving communication of reports, changes and any updates needed because
    of enhancements delivered.

  • Supervise an HCM Business Analyst in the advancement of automating the HR
    systems.

  • Based on deep knowledge of HR processes, advise on best practices for optimizing the use of HR tools, drive HR
    process optimization and standardization while balancing the business need for flexibility. 

  • Lead system upgrades,
    enhancements, testing, validation, and overall performance of systems; analyze software releases to assess impact of new features and
    recommend process or system optimization in alignment with business goals.

  • Serve as a key liaison with third parties and
    other internal stakeholders, in support of the automation. Act as a super-user and leader for all HR systems. Provide training and support
    to end users.

  • Research and resolve problems, unexpected results or process flows. 

  • Performs other duties as
    assigned.

Minimal Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

Bachelor’s degree in business
administration, management, or a field related to the position.

Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial
work experience.

(NOTE: A Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year
(12 months) of work experience.)

Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in an area of
specialization inherent to the position may be required.

SPECIALTY FACTORS:

  • Experience with EIB, Web
    Services, Connectors, XML and XSLT

Departmental Preferences:

  • The successful candidate must have at
    least one-year hands on Workday experience working with HCM, Reporting and Security.

  • At least one full implementation of
    Workday, with demonstrated Workday technical and integrations experience.

  • Our ideal candidate will have excellent
    communication and problem-solving skills, and must be able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to maintain
    extreme confidentiality

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication
    skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to remain flexible and calm in a changing
    environment

Salary: Commensurate with experience
