Job Summary
Somerset Community College invites applications for a Human Resources
Specialist. The primary purpose of this position is to provide human resources support services for Somerset Community College assisting in
all areas of the human resources operations.
Job Duties:
Coordinate HRIS (Hire and Payroll) data
management, and work closely with payroll and budget to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Coordinate the administration and processing of all
human resources employment.
Coordinate benefits administration to include: open enrollment, eligibility issues, retirement inquiries
and facilitation. Coordinate new employee orientation to include benefits, process paperwork, and data entry. Develop and keep current
presentations related to employment and benefits. Maintain benefits packet information, communication availability to employees to assist
them in making informed decisions, and act as a liaison between employees and KCTCS Benefits Office.
Coordinate FMLA, unemployment,
and assist with worker’s compensation claims.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (related field) from a regionally accredited college or university and two years of Human Resources related work
experience, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (related field) from a regionally
accredited college or university and two years of Human Resources related work experience. Experience in a college or university setting is
desired.
