Position Purpose

Collaborating closely with the Chief of Staff and Associate Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Associate plays a pivotal role in crafting an exceptional talent acquisition and management journey within Geisel School of Medicine. This multifaceted position entails spearheading the recruitment, selection, and orientation processes for a diverse range of roles, spanning from non-exempt to exempt and temporary positions. Operating as a liaison between department administrators, and hiring managers campus-wide, the Human Resources Associate offers comprehensive HR support tailored to meet the unique needs of each stakeholder. This encompasses guiding stakeholders through the entirety of the hiring lifecycle, leveraging Dartmouth’s People Admin platform to facilitate seamless processes, from position creation to the successful onboarding of selected candidates.

Required Qualifications – Education and Yrs Exp
Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications – Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • 1-3 years of human resources experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of office procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in project tracking and/or database systems.
  • Proficient with computer applications, including Microsoft Office 365 Suite/Outlook calendar and Zoom video-conferencing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred, or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • Experience in talent acquisition and/or compensation.
  • SHRM-CP
  • Experience in an academic organization.
  • Project coordination experience.

Recruitment and Retention

  • Provides customer service to hiring managers and applicants using the PeopleAdmin management and applicant tracking system.
  • Liaises with Central HR and Talent Acquisition as needed.
  • Partners with hiring managers to craft position descriptions and assist in posting jobs for recruitment.
  • Coordinates updates of, or changes to, job descriptions as requested by departments.
  • Manages position action information in PeopleAdmin from inception to conclusion, ensuring compliance with all requisite procedures and protocols.
  • Assists in all facets of the employment lifecycle, including onboarding of new staff, stay interviews, and exit interviews.
  • Assists with applicant screening, salary setting, and reviewing offer letters for all new staff hires.
  • Conducts equity reviews across the division to ensure equitable pay practices.
  • Assists with professional development of hiring managers to ensure fair hiring practice.
