Little by little, the Philadelphia Eagles are showing that they’re very capable of returning to the Super Bowl this season and possibly winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy this time around.

They have an 8-1 record, which is the best mark in the NFL right now, and they could very well have the most complete roster in all of pro football.

This week is the Eagles’ bye week, and while they will be getting some well-earned rest, they won’t be resting on their laurels.

Star center Jason Kelce says there is lots of room for improvement at this point of the year, via ProFootballTalk.

“It’s a pretty good record,” Kelce told reporters on Sunday night. “I’ll take it. But we know we’ve got to play a lot better in a lot of areas. A lot of things to clean up.”

One area the Eagles will need to clean up is their pass defense, which ranks near the bottom of the league in yards and touchdowns allowed.

On Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, they gave up 333 passing yards, and the week before that, they surrendered 388 passing yards to the Washington Commanders.

However, in Week 7, they did hold the Miami Dolphins, who have the league’s best overall offense, to just 199 passing yards.

Offensively, Philly is rolling, and while quarterback Jalen Hurts isn’t putting up the most prolific of stats, some have him second in the race for the MVP award behind Kansas City Chiefs signal-caller Patrick Mahomes.

After their bye, the Eagles will visit Mahomes and the Chiefs in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl.
