Kangana Ranaut, who is set to play former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in her solo directorial debut Emergency, has announced that the film’s release has been delayed to next year. The political drama, which was scheduled to hit the theatres on November 24, 2023, will now release in 2024. The new release date will be announced soon.
Kangana Ranaut’s statement on Emergency being delayed
The actress took to X, a social media platform, to share the news with her fans and followers. She wrote that Emergency is not just a film for her, but a test of her worth and character as an individual. She expressed her gratitude for the tremendous response that the film’s teaser and other units received from everyone. She also explained that the reason for the postponement was due to the changes in her back-to-back releasing films calendar and the over-packed last quarter of 2024.
It is believed that Ranaut has postponed the release date of Emergency to avoid a clash with Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, which is scheduled to release on November 12, 2023.

I have an important announcement to make, Emergency movie is the culmination of my entire life’s learnings and earnings as an artist.
Emergency is not just a film for me it’s a test of my worth and character as an individual.
Tremendous response that our teaser and other units got from everyone encouraged us all.
My heart is full of gratitude and wherever I go people ask me about Emergency’s release date.
We have announced Emergency release date as 24th November 2023 but because of all the changes in my back to back releasing films calendar and over packed last quarter of 2024 we have decided to shift Emergency to next year (2024).

Emergency is based on the life and times of Indira Gandhi, who imposed a state of emergency in India from 1975 to 1977. The film will showcase the events that led to the controversial decision and its aftermath. Kangana Ranaut will essay the role of the late politician, while other actors like Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade and Mahima Chaudhary will play supporting roles.
Kangana Ranaut has previously revealed that she had mortgaged her properties to fund the film. She also posted a heartfelt note after completing the film’s shooting in January. She said that she had given her blood, sweat and tears to make this film and hoped that it would inspire generations to come.
Emergency is one of the most awaited films of Kangana Ranaut, who has several other projects lined up for release. She will be seen in Tejas, a film based on the Indian Air Force and Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda, a historical drama.
Explosive Tiger 3 trailer starring Salman, Katrina, Emraan out now
The much-awaited trailer of Tiger 3, the third instalment of the Tiger series and fifth film in YRF Spy Universe franchise, was released today and it has left the fans in awe. The trailer showcases Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif reprising their roles as Tiger and Zoya, the super spies who take on a new mission to save their family from a threat.

The trailer is packed with high emotions, high-octane action sequences, stunning visuals and a gripping plot. The trailer also introduces Emraan Hashmi as the main antagonist.
The film also follows the events of Hrithik Roshan starrer War and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan.
In the trailer, we are reunited with Tiger (Salman) and Zoya (Katrina) but they have a bigger obstacle in their way. Emraan Hashmi who plays a ruthless terrorist leader, has held Tiger captive in Pakistan. The actor’s salt-and-pepper look, which was kept under guards for months, is finally revealed as the closing shot is showcased, setting the stage for an intense face-off between Emraan and Salman.
Emraan Hashmi, is hell bent on taking revenge on him, for something Tiger (unknowingly) did to him in the past. This time the war has become personal and Tiger has to choose between saving his family or country. The trailer ends with Salman’s viral dialogue from ‘Tiger Ka Message’, “Jab Tak Tiger Mara nahi tab tak haara nahi”.
The trailer follows the beats of the Tiger franchise, driven primarily by drama and emotions. This is quite a stark contrast from Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, of the same spy universe, which was more flamboyant, lighter in tonality and thrived on style.
Tiger 3 is slated to release on 12th Nov on the day of Diwali 2023 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. Tiger 3 is directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The film is expected to be a blockbuster hit and break all the box office records.
