After winning consecutive NBA MVP awards and nearly winning a third straight before making it to the NBA Finals this year, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets has started to build a resume that may ultimately be comparable to some of the all-time greats.
With Jokic now three wins away from leading the Nuggets to their first NBA title, he continues to pad his legacy, with some people starting to ask where it all began for the perennial All-Star center.
In a recent appearance on All The Smoke with former NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Jokic’s agent Misko Raznatovic talked about how and where he discovered the Nuggets superstar via Showtime Basketball.

From the sounds of it, Jokic’s NBA career was close to not happening if Raznotovic didn’t happen to see his stats in the newspaper on a random day.
It’s crazy to think how much this may happen around the world, especially overseas, with the international game only starting to really make an impact on the NBA game.
Jokic is one of many international success stories in the NBA today, with a number of the top players in the league today being from overseas, like fellow superstars Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Next season, the NBA will see another potential international superstar emerge in the form of French phenom Victor Wembanyama, who likely will be playing for Gregg Popovich on the San Antonio Spurs, who is no stranger to international stars with Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.
