Over the last couple of seasons, one of the most promising young teams in the NBA has been the New Orleans Pelicans, who have two potential superstars in Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson.
Unfortunately, these two potential superstars haven’t been able to stay healthy since joining the Pelicans, which has made things difficult for the New Orleans franchise to live up to expectations.
Heading into the 2023-24 NBA season, Ingram and Williamson should be able to start the year healthy, as long as everything goes according to plan through the preseason with no setbacks for either player.
Even though all eyes will be on Williamson this year due to everything that has happened with him on and off the court recently, head coach Willie Green has high expectations for Ingram moving forward, as he expects the rising star to have a chip on his shoulder to start the 2023-24 campaign via SiriusXM NBA Radio.
“I’m expecting B.I. to have a chip on his shoulder.”

During the FIBA World Cup with Team USA, Ingram was expected to be one of the better players for head coach Steve Kerr, but that didn’t turn out to be the case as he struggled throughout the tournament and was never really able to crave out a role.
Ingram wasn’t happy with the way he was used on that team, as Green alluded to, and that’s part of the reason he feels the forward will have a chip on his shoulder.
It’ll be interesting to see if Ingram is ready to take his game to another level while proving his worth to the rest of the league and hopefully being able to stay healthy through the process.
