Job Description Summary:
This is a seasonal part-time (20 hours per week, no more than 5 hours per day) position for the calling season of September-December and February-May. The Phonathon Manager manages the daily productivity of the call center and the student staff. The Phonathon Manager will help develop and execute strategies to achieve the dollar and donor goals of the call center and the professional development of student fundraisers. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining the general upkeep of the phonathon center and keeping materials and equipment organized. This position reports to the Associate Director of Annual Giving Operations on all aspects of the call center.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The successful candidate must have one year of leadership or supervisory experience.
- The successful candidate must have excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- The ability to work evening and weekend hours is required. Phonathon calling takes place Sunday 11:00 am-4:00 pm and Monday – Thursday 5:45 pm – 9:00 pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree.
- Experience with automated calling software such as WBTs Donor Connect preferred, but not required.
- Experience in fundraising, telemarketing, marketing, or non-profit philanthropy initiatives preferred.
Specific Duties:
Duty: Provide supervision of phonathon calling sessions in coordination with the Associate Director. This includes motivating and assisting callers, monitoring calls and giving feedback and notifying the Associate Director of any issues.
Percentage of Time: 70
Duty: Oversee nightly shift games and competitions. Collaborate with the Associate Director to implement new competitions and prizes to incentivize callers to reach their fundraising goals.
Percentage of Time: 10
Duty: Maintain the phonathon center by keeping the laptops and headset equipment organized. Keep an inventory of the snacks and supplies and notify the Associate Director when additional supplies are needed.
Percentage of Time: 5
Duty: Responsible for achieving proficiency in all of aspects of calling software. This includes helping callers navigate the scripts and calling assignments and assigning callers prospects during shift.
Percentage of Time: 10
Duty: Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director.
Percentage of Time: 5
Salary Range
Maximum: $25.00
Minimum: $16.00
