“Joe’s goal is to win a Super Bowl and play his career in Cincinnati and this is the best way to accomplish these goals,” said Schaffer.
Mixon was initially due for $10.1 million for the upcoming campaign with a $12.79 million cap hit, but the new deal will free up cash and cap space for the Bengals, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The 2021 Pro-Bowler ran for 814 yards and seven touchdowns on 210 attempts during the 2022 season. He also caught 60 passes for 441 yards and two scores.
