Sharks Acquire Forward Anthony Duclair from Florida

“Anthony will bring speed and tenacity to our lineup on a nightly basis,” said Grier. “He has a well-rounded game along with the ability to score and we are excited to have him join our organization.”

Duclair, 27, appeared in 20 games for the Florida Panthers last season, recording nine points (two goals, seven assists) along with a plus-4 rating. Duclair helped Florida reach the Stanley Cup Final in 2023, recording 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 20 games. He finished seventh on the team in goals and points in the postseason.  

Over the course of his NHL career, he has appeared in 490 NHL games with the New York Rangers, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators, and Florida, scoring 261 points (122 goals, 139 assists) with a plus-47 rating. He set career highs in the 2021-22 season in points (58), goals (31), and assists (27), reaching the thirty-goal threshold for the first time in his career. In the 2019-20 season, Duclair was named to the NHL All-Star game.  

Prior to his professional career, Duclair played for the Quebec Ramparts across four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), recording 249 points (116 goals, 133 assists) in 203 games and served as an assistant captain for his last two junior seasons. He helped Quebec reach the Final in the 2015 playoffs, registering 26 points (eight goals, 18 assists) in 22 games, finishing tied for third in points and fourth in assists among all postseason skaters. In 2013-14 he was named to the QMJHL First All-Star team, and in his rookie season was named to the QMJHL All-Rookie Team. 

Internationally, he represented Team Canada in the 2015 World Junior Championship, scoring eight points (four goals, four assists) in seven games and helped lead the team to a gold medal finish. 

The five-foot-eleven, 197-pound native of Pointe-Claire, Quebec was originally selected by the New York Rangers in the 2013 NHL Draft (third round, 80th overall).
