Teenager killed: Harris County Pct. 4 deputies find person shot and killed in wooded area in NE Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A 16-year-old boy was found shot to death near a heavily wooded area in northeast Harris County on Sunday evening, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident happened in the 5300 block of Deer Timbers Trail just before 8 p.m. on Sunday.

According to officials, the victim was with several other teens congregating near the dead-end street earlier in the day before the shooting happened.

Preliminary information learned by investigators was there were multiple shots fired near the neighborhood, with several rounds hitting a nearby home.

Deputies with Precinct 4 arrived at the area after a 911 call and began to search when they happened upon the victim’s body.

Deputies confirmed that the teen was a male.

According to Sgt. Jason Bronw with HCSO, officials are still working the scene and have not identified a suspect yet.
