University of Texas wide receiver prospect Xavier Worthy is the talk of the town after breaking the NFL Combine record with a 4.21 40-yard dash.

Scouts and fans are now reevaluating where Worthy might get selected in the upcoming NFL Draft and trying to get a better idea of what kind of player he can be.

Worthy went on Up & Adams and compared himself to one of the most explosive receivers of the past 20 years, saying “I modeled my game after DeSean Jackson.”

Worthy complimented Jackson for being a much smarter player than he ever got credit for and being explosive with the ball in his hands.

After turning every head in Indianapolis after running the 4.21, Worthy quickly took to X to let people know he is more than just a speedster, encouraging everyone to “turn on the film” and don’t let the 4.21 define him.

The concerns for Worthy as a prospect are the fact that he weighed in at only 165 pounds and the fact that he had issues with drops during his time at Texas.

That would make him the 4th-lightest receiver in the NFL, with only Tank Dell and DeVonta Smith as examples of wide receivers under 170 pounds who have posted big numbers.

Many mocks had Worthy slated to go somewhere in the second or third round before the Combine, but his performance may have convinced teams late in Round 1 to take a chance on him.

The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs are both teams with elite quarterbacks and late picks in the first round.

We’ll see if that 4.21 put Worthy on their radar.
