The very first LEGO Star Wars Ahsoka images have been released, teasing a surprising change for a Star Wars Rebels character in the upcoming series. Set to release in conjunction with the new show, 75357 Ghost & Phantom II recreates the classic ship from the animated Star Wars series thanks to its new live-action appearance in Ahsoka. Piloted by the New Republic’s Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), the new LEGO set teases that she’ll be joined by her son Jacen (though he does look different from his animated appearance).
Thanks to a pre-order listing from Australian-based LEGO Bricks Megastore, new images for 75357 Ghost & Phantom II have been revealed along with official product info. Coming with both The Ghost and its smaller detachable craft known as The Phantom II from the show, both ships look to be an improvement on the original LEGO sets released back in 2014 when Star Wars Rebels first aired. Thanks to Ahsoka which will be tying up several plot points from Star Wars Rebels, it’s the perfect time to update The Ghost and Phantom with this brand-new set. The images for 75357 Ghost & Phantom II can be viewed below:
According to the product info, 75357 Ghost & Phantom II will release on September 1st and will cost $259.99 in Australia (the price in other regions is currently unknown). The set will use 1,394 pieces in total along with 5 minifigures. This includes a brand-new version of Hera to match her upcoming live-action debut alongside her loyal droid companion Chopper. One First Officer Hawkins and a Mon Calamari named Lt. Beyta are included as well. Also, the LEGO set notably features Jacen Syndulla, son of Hera and Kanan Jarrus. However, the minifigure of Jacen has brown hair rather than green as he was seen in Star Wars Rebels.
Why Has Star Wars Changed Jacen Syndulla?
As seen in the finale of Star Wars Rebels, Jacen had green hair while traveling the galaxy with his mother in The Ghost in the show’s epilogue. With his father Kanan having died saving The Ghost’s crew in the final season, Jacen never knew his father. That being said, it was teased that he may share his father’s Force-sensitivity as a Jedi while also inheriting his mother’s skills as a pilot. However, it seemed as though he had also gained his green hair from his mom too.
75357 Ghost & Phantom II seemingly suggests that perhaps Jacen’s hair was dyed (not unlike Mandalorian Sabine Wren). It’s also possible that the change to a more mundane brown hairstyle was simply an aesthetic choice made as many characters from Star Wars Rebels are making their live-action debuts in Ahsoka. Regardless, the inclusion of Hera’s son in this new Star Wars LEGO set does suggest a more significant role for Jacen Syndulla in the upcoming Ahsoka show.
