The Miami Dolphins are now slated to begin the 2023 NFL Season without one of their most significant offseason acquisitions.
Jalen Ramsey was injured during the team’s training camp, a devasting blow to their secondary.
While not much was initially said or known about the Dolphins’ new circumstances, Jason McCourty has highlighted what this means for the organization.
“For Ramsey to come back and be that extra boost to this Dolphins secondary, they’re gonna have to hold down the fort while he’s gone,” McCourty said.

While Ramsey’s injury is significant, it looks like he won’t miss the entire season.
However, as the Good Morning Football team broke down, the Dolphins’ CB room looks bleak.
Xavien Howard is their next-best option, as he has been selected for the Pro Bowl on four occasions.
The other CBs on the roster are either coming off significant injuries, have been on multiple teams, or have limited NFL experience.
For a team that began the offseason with Super Bowl hopes, a devasting blow like this is not the news they need to start the year.
While one player doesn’t necessarily make or break a team, Ramsey’s veteran presence and on-field performance will surely be missed.
How will the Dolphins bounce back?
Their offense is slated to be good again this season, especially if Tua Tagovailoa can stay healthy.
As for the defense and special teams, the strengths of those units remain to be seen.
With the loss of Ramsey in mind, the Dolphins will try to continue their training camp, hoping to find a diamond in the rough.
