Boost Pack Guide (Types, Stats, & Upgrades)

In Starfield, one exciting new feature for players is the ability to utilize jetpacks, which in this case are known as Boost Packs. However, as with the rest of Starfield, there are always endless choices to make, so determining the best option with that much freedom can be tough, even for something as simple as a Boost Pack.

A Boost Pack is an essential item when it comes to exploring the many planets of Starfield, so it’s not something to look into lightly. When it comes to Boost Packs, the main decision will be choosing a type, of which there are four to choose from. Then, from there, players can upgrade and adjust as they please.

Boost Pack Types

As stated, there are four different types of Boost Packs in Starfield: Basic, Balanced, Power, and Skip. The Basic pack is exactly what its name describes: basic. It offers an average level of stats across the board, making it a fine choice but nothing special. It’s generally a good place to start getting used to a Boost Pack’s mechanics before moving on to something better. As for a Balanced Boost Pack, it is a slight upgrade to the Basic pack with better energy consumption, allowing players to cross larger distances. It’s also an acceptable option, but one of the specialized packs is likely a better option.

Boost Packs not only provide transportation, but they also add to the armor stat in Starfield, as well as resistances.

As for those specialized Boost Packs, the first is Power. As expected, this Boost Pack will help you explore areas that would otherwise be unreachable and can be very valuable; however, with great power comes excellent boost depletion. This pack drains quickly, so you must decide if the pros are worth the cons. The final type of Boost Pack is the Skip Boost Pack, which generally has what is probably the most to offer. It utilizes short bursts, and while it won’t reach high places like the Power Boost Pack, it can be efficient in taking on enemies and crossing large areas while being slightly better about Boost usage, making it the most well-rounded option.

Boost Pack Upgrades

Boost Pack Upgrades may not seem as important as ship upgrades in Starfield, but they’re something to consider as they can make all the difference. For example, some of the best packs in the game are Basic packs with upgrades that make them quite the contender.

Upgrading Boost Packs will be completed by investing points into Boost Pack Training or Boost Assault Training in the Skill Tree. The main thing to remember when upgrading is that one of the less desirable options can be made into a very powerful and viable pack, so remember that when selecting your choice of Boost Pack in Starfield.

  Summary:
